@certified well done on your progress. It's interesting reading your initial posts, even the title, and yet here you are over 50 days free from a bet.
Look at the positives. Even though you don't earn much your bank account is the healthiest it's been. That's probably only after two months worth of wages so imagine the path you're on.
I found that when I was gambling I always tried to win everything but the irony is once I stopped I had enough to have everything I wanted.
I'm glad you see the potential complacency ahead and I hope you keep your diary regularly updated.
Good Evening everyone,
Unfortunately today I have gambled online even with blocks in place. Money saved wasted and gone. Basically i have bought myself the new Apple MacBook Pro which doesn’t have gamban installed. So all afternoon I have lost £1,500. Seems like this bug will never leave me alone and back to square one. I googled websites that arent included with gamban and found a numerous amount of sites I could sign up for. Feel so low and useless but I am currently installing gam ban on my new laptop.
Back to day 1 tomorrow. Absolutely gutted.
I've been there and what I used to lose £5000 one night a year ago. I bought myself new phone and had to sell it to cover the loss and I was sick to the stomach. I then abstained for two months just to lose £1000 one night which happened recently. Then this month, i only lost £100. I plan to put this devil addiction to a stop completely now. Nothing in life is perfect, just got to realize that, but don't let gambling be your comfort zone. change your mindset, keep it occupied with productive stuff and don't give anything these devil companies anymore, not even 1p!
I guess I’m writing this telling you I’m back on day 1 starting tomorrow due to heavy gambling since the bookies reopened on Monday. I have been getting into a shop I am self excluded from in my big city centre and they haven’t noticed me but I don’t blame them as the city is huge etc. I had some savings but now I currently have 2 bank accounts maxed out overdrafts and also 2 expensive APR loans to deal with. I have also recently moved out into a rented flat which is £600 a month so I’m unsure how I am going to cope to carry on.
this has to be the end, I’m on my last ropes and need some serious help. I am begging for help. I want to stop but I love the thrill and don’t care when I lose anymore but is it worries I’ll be in the same situation in 25 years time still skint.
there is no hope or anything positive to say right now and I don’t care about anything. I am physically and mentally drained.
Gambling is a habit, and a bad drug. One taste of a win is enough to relapse us and lure us in to a sequential of bets and a roller-coaster marathon. The option is to not play. Avoid them, hate them. Has always been. You need to realize the cold hard truth and to turn off that gambling switch in your brain. You need to realize it is not a source of income. it is emotional manipulation at its finest, psychologists help these gambling companies make the games to hook you in this habit. Being manipulated will only increase your debt further. Do not think gambling is way out of debt, it is not an option because even if you dig yourself out that hole, you will dig yourself a even bigger hole further along the line. and I really feel for you to let these gambling companies manipulating into thinking you can win their system, that a big win will come.
I want to say this. Sometimes, we have to be at our lowest to realize the truth and I think you are at your lowest. Now is the time to listen to your body and open up to people. You have no energy left to play it, tired from all the lies, all the effort, all the time spent. I've been through it, I know. Diet, exercise, communication, job - do not underestimate the good habits. When I improved these habits, I felt I had more energy and realized the good habits in life is what we need to feel alive, not a roller-coaster ride alive but a healthy feeling of consistent feeling of alive.
So now what? Speak to an advisor here about your issues, especially your high interest debts. I assume you still have a job? keep working at it and open up your issues in real life to advisors, friends you can trust and colleagues. Start with one at a time, start with advisor, then maybe someone kind at work. People are kinder than you think. Set debt management plans and strategies to tackle your debt. Make the most out of your current situation.
Life gets better as soon you realize that gambling is just losing money and you taking action for your own future.

Yes certified please listen and ask for help. There is no need to struggle like this, try arrest your addiction now and take steps to recovery. Could you hand your finances to someone, I have found the combination of complete transparency with money and installing gamstop takes the strain off as you can't gamble. Gives you that space and time away from gambling that you need to clear your head then think could you try a GA group/ counselling or both. Certified now is the time to do something different. Take care
Back here again, 29th April and I have been gambling again. This addiction is really draining the soul and life out of me there is no way I can stop but I want to. I had a tennis player today had 6 match points and lost the game as I was standing to win 1.5k but now I am further in debt and more problems. I literally don’t know how I can stop this and sort my life out but I'm only happy when I gamble as I love the buzz.
Tomorrow is day 1 again, I've been here before and I am here again. I will be in the same position in 35 years time if I don’t make some drastic changes right now.
Lots of us have been there, but this is why its inportant you act now..otherwise what happens in may when you get more money ? will you get an urge to gamble and chase untill you loose and your in the same situation again or worse.
