Hello, I want to tell you what happened to me. First of all, let me introduce myself, I'm 20 years old, I'm studying dentistry and I've been living in a country where the economic crisis has been going on since the start of covid. I was introduced to online gambling at the age of 14, before I even started high school. I lost 1.5Bitcoin (which was about $1000 at the time) that I earned on the internet in about 2 years, and I could not get out of the effect of this loss for 1 year. Every time the price of Bitcoin rises, I remember this loss over and over and it hurts.

After this loss, I started high school and started to gamble with game items with my friends during this period. In my second year of high school, I earned $** thanks to my friend, but I lost it within a month and spent 6 months forgetting it.

For the next 2.5 years, I did not gamble, except for small games. Only a few times, with the bonuses given to me by the sites, I earned and withdrawn $** money and bought books for myself with the money.

When I went to university, the country I lived in went into an economic crisis. I went back to making money online because the faculty I was studying had a lot of financial expenses and I didn't want to put my family in a difficult situation. Thanks to a few deals, I earned around $** in about 6 months. (a very good amount for a student considering the minimum wage is around $200 in my country)

When there was no way to make money online, I went back to the cryptocurrency gambling business with my hard earned $***. I've been playing for about 8 months and I've had good luck. I made that $** about $** but that's the happy part of the story.

I entered the online casino last night only to earn $** and exited by losing about $800 which I had won $** as well, but I got greedy and kept playing and lost. I am afraid that these losses may continue because I suffered a lot of serious losses in the process from ** to **.

I am afraid that this will be the loss that will start the end and I am afraid of losing the money I have because as I mentioned, I am living in an economic crisis. I'm trying to make a living by gambling because I can't ask my parents for money, they already pay mortgages.

I also want to leave my country because I am aware that there is no future for me here. That's why I want to save my immigration costs by gambling. My dream is to settle in the UK or Canada.

I'm still very young and to be honest I'm a little bit addicted to gambling. I want to put an end to this business before the damage continues but I don't know how I can cover my immigration costs (about 35k$). There is almost no way for me to earn this amount by working. If I don't spend all the money I've earned for 10 years, maybe I can save.

If I hadn't lost the 1.3Bitcoin I lost years ago, I wouldn't have had to gamble today and save up on immigration fees. I don't want to lose my remaining $6500 in gambling and get further away from my goal.

I just wanted to share what I've been through, please everyone stay away from gambling because the more we play, the closer we get to bankruptcy. I would appreciate if you share your ideas, thank you.

Hello Yern307,

Well done for joining the forum and thanks for sharing your story.

(When posting on the forum, try to avoid making too many mentions of specific amounts of money won, as some of our forum members have said in the past that such mentions can sometimes trigger gambling urges for them).

You might like to look at using something like GamBan to help you steer clear of trading and gambling:

Sounds like you are based outside of Britain, so please also look at this resource:

Take care,

Adam.

I feel you bro, I'm 19 and I struggle with gambling badly. I too have used in game items (CS:GO) to gamble and it really does get out of control with me. the problem with those sites is that it is very hard to permanently ban yourself from them as they are not regulated properly. I now use blocker software to ban myself from losing my whole inventory  on those sites.
