Hi Ameliasgran,

DO NOT DO IT!!

Please dont give in, keep fighting and stay strong! We all know too well how that feeling boils up inside us. It's like when you have to sneeze and it doesnt feel right until you do. But dont give in, I'm glad you posted on here before doing anything silly! We're all fighting our demons and giving in means letting them win. Occupy yourself with something else. Are you in the position that you could get up from your desk, leave all technology (and access to money) behind at home and go for a walk? If so, I'd suggest that!

I cant remember whether you had the gambling block on? I accessed a sight the other night and as it let me log in I got this guy wrenching feeling in my stomach like what am I about to do?! But then as I went to deposit it said that I was unable to play with real money. I breathed a sigh of relief and quickly turned off all electronics and went to sit in the garden for a couple of hours. First time I've been that close this month and I'm so happy I was stopped.

I hope you find it in you to keep well away, we all believe in you!!!

Hold out...  Payday makes look like a no brainer but not when you're already broke by the end of the week.

Ameliasgran, do something to make gambling harder.

Sign up to Gamstop, put a gambling block on your bank account, move your money to your husbands account. Better still, tell him. Be honest and have someone to help you. Have someone to talk to just to get the idea gone from your head.

Do anything but gambling won't make it better, only worse, and if you do gamble the problem will still be there. Better to deal with it before you make it worse.

Chris.

Put your phone in a drawer and go for a walk. These are just thoughts in your head, nothing physical that means you have to take any notice of them

Think how good you will feel tomorrow knowing you did not give in compared to the sickening feeling you will have when you wake up tomorrow if you have gambled.

We know you have this. Just don't give in:)

Dont give in  I stopped on the 22nd may after 30 years of gambling. Payday is always the hardest. If you can be strong and avoid temptation, you need all blocks in place. I used to go out with just 5 pounds to gamble  i would lose it and 12 hours later would be chasing losses of over 300 pounds. I find music has been my saviour the last few weeks and also the brilliant support on here.

It’s better looking at my bank balance no waking at 3am crying and anxious.  Lovely day out today with husband and dogs, seaside, well Southport ? fish and chips, 5 mile walk, live music, no gambling ?? life looked brighter ?
