Hi Everyone, I’ve just hit rock bottom and nearly lost everyone I loved due to my addiction. Thankfully I feel tho now that I’ve it out I have the support of my loved ones and feel after near 20 years I can rid this horrible addiction for good.

Hi Betty,

day two done and started making plans with partner to give control of my finances to get myself straightened out.

daughting thought but I know it’s the for the best until I have this nailed down.

Tougher day today as talked more about the pain I’ve caused due to my addiction but was good to get things out there in the open for a clean start.

hope all goes well for you to and we can do this ?

@tutu23 hi,

yes rock bottom is what I’ve needed to get my head in right frame to get rid of this for good. I’ve giving full financial control to my partner with wages going to joint account.

Gamban installed I’ve just done day 3 and can say I’ve been strong and has been surprising how easy it’s been so far. Hope I stay in this frame of mind and get over this horrible addiction.

I find having a support network this time is making it a lot easier rather than trying to do this on my own.

Stay strong and one day at a time is all it takes ?

Hi everyone, how are you all getting on since? I hope you're all well.

"Just for one day I will not gamble" I'm going to live by that, one day at a time!

Day 4, done ?

Hi Betty,

glad to hear you’re still going strong, did you tell your husband of the situation?

As I find the massive difference this time is the support from my partner and family.

I’m currently on day 4 also all done and dusted. Took my wee man out to the park today and went for a walk. Clear head no thoughts of gambling and just enjoying spending time with my loved ones.

@ktl13 I'm so glad to hear you're doing well ? keep up the good work ?

Yes I told him a few days ago, a d**n hard conversation but I'm glad I did it, it brought up an abundance of emotions from both of us! We've gone through the finances and are making plans to get some of the debts sorted, I have blocks put on my devices and a limited amount of access to funds for shopping etc.

Hi everyone,

just a check in to see how everyone is doing?

Ive just done week one and to be honest I feel amazing, super proud and was so nice to have funds available to do things with the family without fear of trying to lie why I didn’t have money because I’d lost it all.

For the first time in a long time I had money when I wanted it and also couldn’t believe how long £20 lasted me, 4 days on £20 when max it would’ve last 4 mins. Even if I’d of won I’d of not walked away and gave it to them in long run.

No more!!

On to week two, each day at a time we can beat this ?

@ktl13, how are you? I really hope things are going well, I had a wobble last week and did find a site I could use, thankfully it it wasn't too much wasted, 250-  .   I laugh .  Not too much, I could have fed us for a week and paid a bill however (not excusing it, a few months back that might have been thousands) but still I was so frustrated with myself, blocked the site, was thankful I didn't go further yet absolutely Disgusted I set myself back........ Glad to say that set back has definitely hit home-made me more determined. I have to beat THIS- I WILL
