I’d of never of thought I’d stop, after hitting lowest point in October, I contacted gamcare, I got a counsellor who helped me change my life, I’ll forever be grateful, I still never take my recovery for granted, I don’t have a lot of self control but I’m whipping this demons (b*m) so please don’t lose hope and if your ready then get help, for the first time in 15 yrs I know I won’t go hungry and I can pay bills, it’s like I’m awake again, yes I still have problems and I thought my addiction took me away from them, I was burying my head and making my pile of problems bigger, I also intend to go to a few meetings after lockdown..don’t give up hope people, I really thought I was a lost cause..I’m winning this battle!

Extremely well done Msdespair12, five months is an excellent achievement.

As you said, you are "whipping those demons"; and that's the way to go about it, "riding the storm" until they lessen which seems to be working well for you.

Everyone buries their head at some point, some permanently, but you did the right thing by seeking help and now you are making a lot of progress. You should be proud of yourself
