Just wondering if anyone has been to the GamAnon groups and if they find them helpful? I'm a bit reluctant to go to groups as I find them intimidating but want to try anything I can to help my partner so any advice or info on what to expect would be really useful to know!

I am afraid I haven’t, however the GamCare page have just launched a friends and family chat session on Wednesdays at 7pm. Although I missed tonight’s unfortunately.
also the general group chat can be helpful to discuss with CGs any questions you may have or be thinking so that it doesn’t feel like your questioning your Other Half all the time.

I attend a GamAnon group regularly and it keeps me sane day to day as I live with a compulsive gambler. The meetings are not about helping the gambler. The focus is on you and how you can recover from the devastating effects of living with a compulsive gambler.
This can have an indirect impact on your partners recovery as if you are emotionally healthy you are able to provide support and understanding.
