I've used the central self exclusion service for a number of years and it helps as it prevents me from visiting local betting shops. I have had it set up to include as many betting shops as possible. If I was to want to gamble it leaves me needing to drive for an hour to an area that I'm not excluded in.

I'm currently working with the NHS gambling service and finding them a huge help. With trying to focus on not gambling I called MOSES to renew my self exclusion. Because I have not called in 18 months I have been deleted off their system and to get back on the system I have to start from scratch. This is very disappointing as you have to do one shop at a time by post code and I was previously banned from hundreds of shops.

I'm powerless over my gambling I need all the help I can get. I realise I'm responsible for myself and I'm not going to get any help from gambling companies but to be told by the MOSES helpline that I'm now able to gamble in all my local shops is most alarming. Surely they could have sent me an email to warn me I needed to renew? I can't believe they can't find my old records and set it up again.

The lady I just dealt with was most unhelpful and didn't seem to have any regard to my problem. I will call back later and hope I find someone more helpful but I'm really frustrated that I will have to spend an age going through shop post codes and hoping I've not missed any out.

Been doing really well lately not going to let this drag me back into a bookies.

Well done my friend

It would be so easy for you to go out and gamble but you know what you want out of life and that doesn't involve that evil addiction us problem gamblers have. I hate when you try and talk to someone and you feel like your getting no where but just remember to phone again and if you get no where then ask to speak to a team leader or a manager as by law they've got to allow this and hopefully It helps you out. I wish you well and I'm so glad you seem determined to do what is right for you keep up the good work

That's not good to hear and certainly goes against the spirit of the purpose of the company.

Still, it sounds like you have a good standing to be able to go through them again should your next call to them not prove helpful.

Good luck.

Chris?

Thanks for the positive posts, I did call back and spoke to someone a lot more helpful and got my exclusion started up again.
