Today a betting shop has been fined 6million for not having enough safe cards in place to help gamblers.

It's not enough for how much they earn from gambling, and how many people have suffered over the years.

It's a start but I want to see more fines and maybe even some compo for those that's been affected. Let's hope they start seeing problem gamblers and put in place the need to help them

Well if that's the fine it shows you how much they are making from gambling.

I'm telling you all that its a national scandal of  monumental proportions.

Those shops on the hight street are legalised drug pushers. Its as simple as that when you have studied this addiction.

Along with the government they are profitting from other peoples misery and total ruin. There is no defence. There is nothing on offer...who do you know that hands out easy or free money?

My stance is that gambling should be banned because people need to be protected from this evil and totally cynical, money making scam.

Yes I dont call it an industry....Its a scam......WAKE UP!

Best wishes to everyone on the forum

Totally agree! These companies make billions from gambling addiction. It's a travesty! The government won't do anything, they makes millions in tax! It's a shambles, just awful

Agree that all high street betting shops should be banned  in truth the sheer explosion of them in the last 10 years will lead many to close soon.online is what they want, hardly anyone goes in for racing now, they were open for the FOBT and since those are now on the ropes many more shops will close. Wish it was the case 30 years ago.
