Evening all...i need your advice.

I recently lost 3k gambling and feel like a have to make the money back as soon as possible to fill a void of shame and guilt.

Im not gambling but i'm doing alot of overtime at work however i feel that is now becoming my addiction.

I have told my wife i will do it for 3 months to make my money back and she supports me but i am sacrificing alot of my time and weekends to do the overtime.

Should i carry on and stay focussed for the 3 months or try to come to terms with losing the money.

I feel a huge pressure to provide for my partner but i may be doing harm to myself psychologically with all the overtime.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Hi torrio :)).

You could have taken your post from one of my own from my original diary when I first came here .

I totally threw myself into work although I'm self employed so it may be a little different for you ? but I knew that for so long I'd neglected my business and really taken my eye off of the ball while in full blown gambling mode .

It's back where it should be and better than ever thanks to no longer gambling but I hear your concern as me doing that very thing was almost like swapping one addiction for another . Crazily I used to have the same problem with decorating :)) , I had the cleanest house around for months and always smelling of newly painted wood and walls ? .

What can I say my friend except that I think in time you find balance and although you want to rush and replace what's been gambled away , over time it will be replaced but " Recoveries for life so what's the rush " ?.

Have a good evening bud  and take some time to enjoy the important folk in your life :))
