Close to completing 42 months roughly and I was so tempted to going back to gambling again. Been trawling sites again and came close. Then I went through my old emails from like 6 years back and couldn't believe how bad I was back then. Emailing loads of sites and closing and reopening accounts. Even contacting samaritans as well. Can't believe how quick time has gone since I have quit but the days like today where I want to gamble, overcoming them is an achievement. Everyone just take it one day at a time. Some days are hard even when you have quit for a long time, and thinking you can go back as you know your mistakes. It won't work so don't go back.

Congrats Beany on 42 months.

I am over 6 months gamble free and feel the same way you do. I dont feel like I need to come on here anymore (it was an amazing help in the early weeks).

However I recognise one day I might be tempted to gamble again when the memories of quite just how bad it became begin to fade.

That is why I will always check back on this site. No matter how much time goes by.

Well done Beany... 42 months is good going, excellent in fact!

It never fully goes away does it. Like you I can go for long periods of time untroubled by gambling and then suddenly as if by magic I find myself gambling. We will always have to keep on our guard. When I have gone back it always ends up being exactly like it was previously.

Well done on catching yourself before you gambled again. Regards... S.a

Thanks for the replies. Rst18 some days are hard as I said but to be honest my health has improved 100%. I never could sleep properly, I workout down the gym 2-4 times a week and overall im the healthiest Ive been. Money wise, knowing you don't have to worry about banks calling etc. Being able to buy what you want as long as you can afford it. I have money now and no longer in debt. You learn to control your money and see things sometimes and think I used to blow that it 10 mins. Im still with friends and family and only a few frinds know about my problem. My family still have no idea.
