.....i have a problem.

Sunday saw me hit the most horrendous point I have ever been to, which included 2 police cars, an ambulance and frantic family.

I have gambled for over 10 years, started off in casinos and more recently online. I have never been great at quitting whilst I am ahead, and go on to lose.

On Friday i put on £200...... by the time I went to bed I cashed out £20k! Amazing yeah!........ until I hit the reverse withdrawal, without hubby knowing. Guess what....... lost it all. So I only lost £200 (which we could absolutely afford)...... but losing £20k wiped me out. What could have been. How comfortable life would have been.

Instead I ended up losing it, driving off after drinking, realising quickly driving was stupid...... abandoned the car, walked barefoot in the wet and cold and stood on a bridge over the M40.

Didn't have the backbone to do anything. Didn't have the courage to go home. Didn't have the self belief I could fix this.

My family have been great, and tried to pick me up in the past 48 hours. My feet are sore and cut from walking over 6 miles, all online access now blocked, trying to shake the feeling of hopelessness.

Does anyone have experience of having issues online but not in casinos? Why can I control one but not the other?

So...... to sign off.....48 hours bet free!

Thanks x

Hi there, I absolutely have the same problem . I’ve been gambling online for five years now. I have won over £100,000k more than 5 times and lost it each time through reversing withdrawals. Finally here to put an end to it all and get my life back to normal!

Hi. I hope the dust has settled for you. Gambling win or lose really does put us in a mental spin. Stay safe X. Online gambling is the devil. It comes into our home, freely advertised on tv and then destroys at the core. I struggle with slots online. I don't gamble elsewhere, used to enjoy bingo but soon that social event became not enough.

I can only dream of winning £100,000 but I know if I did I would of lost it back too. That’s what the casinos rely on, they “throw you a bone to keep you hooked” as one bookie put it. Once all the money is gone the only thing left to lose is our minds.

Unicorn. I'm so glad that you are seeking help, especially after the latest tense encounter. The gambling rollercoaster really does take over everything. It can take us from sheer bliss to turmoil without us having any control. From an advantagious situation - building up to a massive win with addrenilin pumping. To a catastrophic series of losses taking us to the brink once again. Like a hammer blow to the head.

But thankfully we have a chance to put it behind us. To learn from the experience. And realise that money should not be the most important thing in our lives. We can change our outlook.

I would encourage you to use the valuable advice on this forum and put steps in place to help you recover, and build a better future without gambling.
