Lived Experience Forum

The forum meets regularly throughout the year virtually. Example pieces of work could be: 

• Meet regularly throughout the year virtually.
• Respond to adhoc email surveys.
• Represent GamCare in the media and events.
• Assistance with staff recruitment.
• Participation in pieces of research.
• Co-produce & co-deliver content.

We want to continually improve the services we provide at GamCare. Ensuring our services are relevant and effective for people that need help and support.  

Giving people that have lived experience a voice within our organisation and to help raise awareness and strengthen our relationships with people that have used our services, partners, and key stakeholders.

The Criminal Justice & GH Programme held its first Thought Leadership work shop with members of the Lived Experience Forum exploring how gambling harm can be better represented and supported within all areas of the criminal justice system.

This workshop explored how gambling harm can be better represented and supported within all areas of the criminal justice system. Brought together with CJ professionals, LE forum members were able to explore challenges, solutions and opportunities for collaboration. LE members had the chance to ask what they feel professionals could do differently as well as explore those with LE gambling and CJ lived experience presenting their lived experience to the group.
