Underage Internet Gambling Study - GamCare's response

27 July 2004

GamCare has outlined their key concerns from the results of the underage internet gambling study, and have called for a network of shared responsibility in order to resolve the issues surrounding underage access to Internet gambling. GamCare would like to see:

> The gambling industry make the implementation of effective age and ID verification systems a priority.

> Other involved sectors to do more to address this issue including ISPs and sites advertising gambling sites.

> A higher awareness of the risks within the general public, especially from parents.

> Banks and Credit/Debit card companies to commit support to help tackle underage play.

GamCare are keen to work with any company to help develop effective policies addressing social responsibility and underage play.
