Online support
GamCare provides a range of online support services, from our confidential NetLine, through to peer-to-peer services including our Forum and Chat/Support room.
The NetLine allows you to talk live online to one of our trained Advisors who can offer emotional support, information and advice. The NetLine is currently available to people living in England, Scotland and Wales, between 8am and Midnight 7 days a week, whilst all other online services are available without restriction to anyone affected by a gambling problem.
In 2010 GamCare ran a pilot to extend HelpLine and NetLine opening hours from Midnight until 2am, seven days a week. Our evaluation of the pilot showed that there was little demand for either service at these times. As a result, we have decided that our new opening hours for HelpLine and NetLine will now be 8am to Midnight, seven days a week from 1 May 2011, allowing us to dedicate our resources to providing a more effective service during our busier periods of the day.
The Forum and Chat/Support room are moderated areas where you can discuss, ask questions and offer advice. GamCare Advisors frequently visit the Forum and moderate each Chat session to answer questions and give advice and ensure a safe environment.
