Just a moment can change your life

8th September 2017

Catherine is raising awareness of World Suicide Prevention Day this weekend, and encouraging anyone struggling with gambling problems to reach out for support.

Sometimes, life can really put us through the ringer. As someone who has been affected by the suicide of a loved one, I understand that life doesn’t always follow the path we expect or want it to, and that sometimes darkness can feel all encompassing. This Sunday marks World Suicide Prevention Day, and encourages us to ‘take a moment, change a life’.

At GamCare, we are here to support you to change your life for the better every day.

GamCare will never judge you, no matter what you tell us. We exist to support anyone who is struggling to control their gambling, as well as the people close to you who are impacted.

If you have reached a point where life just doesn’t seem worth living, remember that you are never alone and that there is always cause for hope. We can help you rebuild the networks of support you need to get on the road to recovery.

Our services provide you with space to reflect on how you have been impacted by gambling and what is happening in your life, and we will listen to whatever you have to say – the good, the bad and everything in between. We are here to give you a safe space to share what’s going on for you, and to help you work through whatever you need to in order to help you regain your balance.

We know it can be incredibly difficult to open up to others when all you feel is like you want to die, but we are a good sounding board if your relationship with gambling has driven you to the edge.

It’s absolutely ok to voice your feelings – we all deserve the chance to work through difficult emotions, hopefully with someone to gently guide us. GamCare can help you get some perspective on all the various options to you for support in the long term as well.

If you engage with our services we believe we have a duty of care to you, while respecting your individual choices. We will do our utmost to protect you and help you work towards your goals, including the decision to leave gambling behind for good, if that is what you want to do.

Take a moment, change your life. Talk to us today >>
