GamCare Announces Further Service Expansion

10th April 2013

GamCare is today announcing further service expansion into Staffordshire with treatment partner IMPACT Alcohol & Addiction Services.

The GamCare network of treatment partners provides treatment across Great Britain for those who need sustained help to deal with their gambling problems. IMPACT provides face-to-face counselling services for anyone experiencing gambling problems.

Wendy Condlyffe, Head of Service Development & Marketing, IMPACT Alcohol & Addiction Services said: IMPACT delivers counselling on addiction services. We have been delivering counselling to people with gambling problems on behalf of GamCare since 2009 and all of our counsellors are trained by GamCare. Initially we delivered the service in Telford and Shropshire but we have recently extended services to include Staffordshire and we have seen an increased number of calls from that area. We see clients in person or deliver telephone counselling. Since 2009 we have seen an increase in referrals of about 50% year on year; the types of addiction are varied but the feedback from the clients suggests that it helps them to address their addiction to gambling. Visit http://www.impactaas.co.uk for further information about the gambling counselling services provided by IMPACT.
