NetLine advisers will be familiar with using the internet to communicate and have a competent typing speed. HelpLine advisers will have excellent telephone skills including clear spoken English with a calm and confident manner. You will be a good team player, enjoy communicating with your colleagues, as well as being able to work without close supervision. An understanding of working on a helpline or using interactive services would be an advantage.

Culture secretary Tessa Jowell yesterday warned that big-prize virtual roulette machines in betting shops will be the subject of close review before the government publishes its gambling bill next month.

Government release details of the new Gambling Bill
The Government has released details of the new gambling laws, which include tougher measures to protect young people. The proposals due to become law in 2006 include a ban on fruit machines in unlicensed premises such as chip shops and cafes, the adherence to social responsibility codes of practice as a license condition and a three yearly prevalence study to monitor the impact of the new law.
