On my own but have lovely family and grandchildren and noticed if they ring me when I am playing, I dismiss what they are saying as only aim is to gamble. Well here goes. Day 1.sat in front of tv feeling rubbish. As usual spent too much on online sites which gives me that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Been putting up with this addiction for last 40 years. Have had so much opportunities to get out of debt but always mess up. So going to read some diaries an try and post every day to see if I can recognise my triggers and ask for help when needed.

Hello Minnie16,

Welcome to the forum. Its never too late to stop gambling if its having a negitive impact on your life. You can improve things moving forwards. The questions you need to ask yourself is 1) Do you REALLY want to stop or just stop losing money? if you want to do everything you can to stop, great. Now what are you going to do to change things and make that happen?

Theres a lot of ways you can get support if you want to accept it and work on recovery. More than the money side of things stopping will give you a change to get back to "the real you". Mixer made a great post for new members, grab yourself a drink and sit down for a read. Its a long one but im sure you can take a lot from it if you want to. I'll link it below. Keep updating this page and you will get the support from the members here too. It also gives you a place to write thing down and get them off your chest.

You can do it, its never too late. Now heres that post to read =)

iHi and thank you for supportive comments. I am not sure I would stop gambling if I had more money than sense! But I realise at my time of life there should be more important things than sitting goggling a online slot.i have just downloaded an app to teach myself Spanish as goal is to manage basic language to go to Benidorm in September for daughters birthday. Gracias

Well it’s almost midnight. Got that horrible gutty feeling though keep reminding myself if I didn’t then I would just carry on gambling an living off my overdraft. Was up till 6am gambling. Cashed out but as is the way it played on my mind that it wouldn’t harm to withdraw a bit then a bit more until it had gone an I am left with debts. That’s what made me decide gambling is not good for me as it makes me feel worthless. Feel washed out and need to sleep. Want to wake up and positive.

You are in the right place Minnie. We can all understand the pain and misery that gambling can cause.

We are all here together lending each other support, offering advice and sharing knowledge.

By not gambling we can all live a more contented and happier life. Wishing you well...stephen

Thank you. Did watch the video and mixers post. Made me feel more positive. Sun out so going to the parents an my friends. Did wake up thinking about my lost money but have self excluded on all networks so am accepting it’s stupid to think about that one off gamble to win it back then stop. After reading others posts know we all have regrets. So new day an looking forward
