After slipping up after almost 9 years, today marks 102 days since my last bet.

While it might not be a success story YET I am certainly on the right track again.
Life is good and money worries are sorting themselves out, although it will be a wee while yet before I clear them.

This slip up as made me realise even more that there can be no half measures in recovery, youve got to give it your all as this illness is always lurking.

I wish everyone well and take inspiration knowing that it can be done.

Hi killieboy,

Thank you for your warm and up-beat post here. Congratulations to you. You certainly have achieved a lot. Almost 9 years plus 103 days. You are right, lapses happen and they can feel very disheartening. But when you keep in mind what you have achieved already and use it as a learning moment, you can move forward stronger than before. It sounds as though that is just what you did and still do.

Keep going. Thank you for inspiring others, and stay inspired, too.

Kind wishes

Gabriele

Thank you for your reply Gabriele.

This time round I have too much to lose than when I initially stopped as ive my own house and a family now, therefore it's paramount I quit while I'm ahead so to speak.

I think the reason I went back to gambling was that i maybe became a bit complacent and although I've lost money and got myself Into a bit of debt I try to find a positive, by knowing now that I can't ever let complacency slip in again.

It's also a reminder for anyone reading this that if your GF for 1 day or 1000 days that you need to live one day at a time and always be on guard.

Stick at it. You're doing amazing.

I cannot wait till I am in the same position as you. Only about 90 days to go - ha!
