Communications Intern

GamCare is the national leading charity in problem gambling treatment, advice, education and support. We operate the National Gambling Helpline and provide counselling nationwide through our partner network.  GamCare offers its expertise to the UK and European gambling industry by delivering training, education and awareness programs. We are now seeking a Communications Intern to work up to three days per week for up to six months. The role will include:

Hours of work: Up to three days per week, flexible, for up to six months

Expenses paid

Location: GamCare Head Office

Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager

Key tasks:

Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager with tasks including:

Promoting GamCare services at events nationwide
Supporting the delivery of GamCare events for employees and industry stakeholders
Researching and drafting blog posts for the GamCare website
Updating external GamCare online listings
Creating content for GamCare and BigDeal social media profiles, including video content
Background research for proactive PR and development projects
Supporting the delivery of key publications, including GamCare Annual Review
Collating meeting minutes, mail merges and other ad-hoc administration

Essential:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiasm and self-motivation, with the ability to take initiative
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Confidence in use of MS Office packages

Desirable:

Knowledge of or interest in problem gambling / gambling related issues
Experience in producing short videos
